Meet the Pastor
Rev. Paul E. Smith is a native of Savannah, Georgia. Educated in the Savannah Chatham County Public School System, he graduated from A. E. Beach High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Political Science Degree from Savannah State University and a Masters of Divinity Degree from Morehouse School of Religion.
Rev. Smith was licensed to preach at the Pentecostal Miracles of Deliverance Center in Savannah, Georgia, under the leadership of Rev. Idell Cheever. In 2017, he was ordained in the Baptist denomination by Rev. Quentin Morris, Pastor of Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
He has served as Youth Minister at both the Pentecostal Miracles of Deliverance Center and Tremont Temple Baptist Church. He has served as Associate Pastor of Tremont Temple and Interim Pastor of the Historic Second African Baptist Church. He was called as Senior Pastor of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in July, 2021. Some of his leadership roles and ministry affiliations include but are not limited to serving as the NAACP Savannah Branch 2nd Vice President, a Berean Association Facilitator, G.M.B.C. Facilitator, Dean’s Cabinet Member, New Era Southern Region Deputy Secretary and member of the Baptist Minister’s Association. In June 2022, Rev. Smith was successfully elected for public office to serve as the Fifth District School Board Member. His passion for youth and education led him to run. He believes education is the vehicle to endless success. His fervent desire to serve people has also led him into prison ministry throughout South Georgia.
Rev. Paul E. Smith, the current Senior Pastor of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church is leading with a vision of being, Christ Centered and Community Focused. His ministry focus is based on Evangelizing, Embracing, Educating and Empowering. He is equipped and ready to serve and build the kingdom of God through biblical principles with a prayerful spirit in a fresh and innovative way. He is a noble community leader, a God servant, a dynamic teacher, and a powerful praying preacher.
